Wall Glazes......

Wall glazes are one of the most common “faux finishes”; there are really endless possibilities.  By layering paint and colour one is able to produce much more subtle effects than with a more conventional coat of paint.  Unfortunately this subtlety is not easily shown in a web image.  However here are a few examples.
